Collegiate Teaching - Interaction Design
Interaction Design | World Building | Storyboarding | Character Design | Traditional Media
Interaction Design is a five credit studio course where students create an interactive application. I have taught this course three times now and the results surprise me each year. The course covers a broad spectrum of interaction design applications, ranging from games, mobile apps, and interactive installations. Students developed an array of interactive applications including AR/VR applications, mobile and desktop games, and interactive narratives. It was a highly collaborative course where students worked in groups, alongside other designers and computer science students.
The most rewarding part of teaching these courses was coordinating and hosting an end of the year showcase for the students, where they may have people come play their demos, exhibit their artwork and received feedback from their play-testers.
